Our world needs more connection with one another. Yet the places where new connections can be made are becoming fewer and fewer, or are shifting to the internet. While there are wonderful opportunities to network online, meeting in person offers so much more.
We are delighted that here at the Herz-Jesu-Kloster Steyl, we can provide a place where young people from all over Europe can meet and exchange ideas.
To this end, we offer a setting where we can celebrate our faith together and start the day together. We’ll also receive inspiration for the day from outstanding speakers, such as Meinolf Wacker, a German pastor and peace activist who has been working with young people on international peace projects (externer Link, öffnet in neuem Tab) for many years. In the afternoon, there will be a wide variety of workshops, including sessions on contemplative prayer, communication, making music together, discussions with nuns, Bible sharing, and creative expression.

Young people aged 18–35 from all over Europe—or aged 17 with parental consent.

The camp starts on Thursday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m. You’re welcome to arrive a little earlier to, for example, set up your tent or move into the dorm.
The camp ends on Sunday, August 2, after lunch, around 2:00 p.m.
For those traveling from far away, there is the option to arrive as early as Wednesday and, if necessary, depart on Monday morning.

You can choose whether you'd like to spend the night in your own tent on the meadows in Steyl or stay in one of our group dorms. Both types of accommodations have shared bathrooms and restrooms.

Please bring everything you'll need for your stay (towels, etc.). Especially if you're camping, be sure to bring your own tent, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag.
If you can't bring something, please ask our youth coordinator in Steyl (anna.lesmeister[at]ssps.de) and we'll try to help.
Sometime before the start of the in:spirit Summercamp you will also receive an email with all the details and a packing list.
